Sixty days, then the photos go

A job's photos are kept for 60 days after you mark the job delivered. If a job is never marked delivered, they are kept for 60 days after its last edit.

So Activity still adds up and you can still see what a job cost. The app shows each job's deletion date, so the date is never a surprise.

One reminder, seven days before

One email goes out 7 days before a job's photos are deleted. It names the job and the date, and it is the only notice, so do not wait for a second one.

A limitation to know about. The reminder goes to the address your invitation was sent to. If you later change the address you sign in with, the reminder does not follow the change and can arrive at the older address. Tell us if that is a problem and we will correct the address the reminder uses.

Exports expire after 24 hours

The folders and zips that Download produces expire 24 hours after they are made. Keep the files you download; make the export again if you need it later, at no extra charge.

Deleting things yourself

You can delete a photo, a set or a whole job at any time, and its files leave the storage immediately. You do not have to wait for the 60 days.

Once photos are deleted they cannot be recovered from BatchLook. Keep your own archive of the camera files, as you already do. BatchLook is a finishing tool, not a backup.

Approved edits, kept to improve BatchLook

BatchLook keeps a copy of each edit you approve, to improve its own editing presets and models. The copy is the before-and-after pair at working size, about 2K, with the prompt, the continuity prompt and the edit settings. It carries no file names, no job or client names, no account details and no camera metadata. These copies are kept after the 60 days. They are never shown to other customers, never sold or licensed, and never used for anything but improving BatchLook's own editing. Edits you did not approve are not kept.

Because these copies hold nothing that identifies your account, they cannot be searched for yours later, so a deletion request cannot reach them. This is part of the terms, it applies to everyone in the beta, and it is described again under privacy. As things work today the copy is taken at the moment the 60 days run out, so a job you delete yourself beforehand leaves none.

Backups

The database is backed up daily by the platform BatchLook runs on, and photo files are mirrored to an independent copy. Backup copies follow the same deletion schedule as the originals.

The model providers

A photo sent to OpenAI or Google for an edit is subject to that company's API retention. On the paid terms BatchLook uses, both state they do not train on what is sent through the API; both log requests for a limited period to detect abuse, which OpenAI states as up to 30 days.
